Allow me to introduce myself…
Hi, I’m Heather — a 36-year-old freshly minted empty nester who's figuring out what happens after the last school lunch is packed and the final soccer cleats are tossed in the back of the SUV (which, yes, still smells like Goldfish crackers and grass stains).
For the last 18+ years, I’ve answered to a lot of titles: Soccer Mom. Dog Lover. Real Estate Agent. Laundry Folder-in-Chief. But somewhere between the showings and the carpool lines, I realized I was losing the version of me who wasn’t defined by a role or a relationship.
Now that my one and only has graduated and flown the coop, I’m taking a breath (a real one!) and stepping into the question so many of us face but rarely say out loud: “Who am I now?”
This space—Midlife (Mostly No) Crisis—is my honest, slightly sarcastic, totally unfiltered take on exploring the next chapter of life. I'm diving into:
New hobbies (some I love, some I’ll leave),
Self-care that doesn’t feel like a chore,
Travel that feeds the soul (and hopefully includes room service),
And the bold idea that we can be more than just one thing.
Because here’s the truth: we don’t have to fit in one box. We’re not just moms. Or just professionals. Or just anything.
We’re allowed to grow, pivot, rediscover, and reimagine ourselves—especially now.
So if you’re in that same weirdly wonderful place of post-kid reinvention, welcome. You’re not alone, and you’re definitely not done. Let's figure this out together—with heart, humor, and the occasional glass of wine.
